Janette R. Hill Associate Professor

She received the M.S. in Library Science in 1990 and, in 1995, a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Design from The Florida State University.

Returning to UGA where she was a postdoctoral fellow in the Learning and Performance Support Lab (1995-96), she was on the faculty of the University of Northern Colorado and Georgia State University. She has participated in diverse design projects, including a training project as a faculty fellow at NASA, Johnson Space Center. She has attended summer study programs at the Rhine Institute at Duke University, and was selected to attend the HERS Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration in 2003.

Her current research focuses on enhancing and extending what we do with and know about Web/Internet-based learning environments. She specifically focuses on community building in virtual environments, resource-based learning, and information retrieval in open-ended systems.

Her teaching interests include instructional design, research in instructional technology, technology integration, computers in education, and Internet-based learning environments. She is also an IT Studio faculty member, and teaches sessions in the IDT Certificate Program.
